2018 IFASC FALL CONFERENCE AND TRADESHOW

If you cannot attend personally, please consider sending one or more persons from your center. This conference is one that needs active participation to gain the full benefit. Reading handouts will not suffice. In person participation in the Emergency Prep active shooter tabletop exercise is the only way you will be able to learn how to conduct a tabletop exercise for your staff.
- Leading off the day is John Lee, Deputy Director Acute Care Division of the ISDH. John will share with us those deficiencies most cited on the ASC surveys and update us regarding any licensure rules & the process for change. PLEASE SUBMIT ANY QUESTIONS YOU WOULD LIKE JOHN TO COVER.
- Dr. David Shapiro will lead a consciousness raising discussion about the Kaiser Health News articles that were published recently dissing the ASC community. He has been asked to address this as a risk management issue. No Indiana ASCs were mentioned in the articles, and we want to keep our ASCs maintaining safe practices for our patients
- The IFASC is proud of the IFASC Emergency Preparedness Toolkit (IEPTK) developed for and provided to our members last year. By member request and to assist you in developing the exercises mandated by CMS Conditions for Coverage (CfC), we have partnered with Vantage Point Consulting's Joyce Fogler and Troy Jester to conduct Table Top Exercises for an active shooter scenario.
- Please refer to the agenda in the brochure on the IFASC website for specifics. Also, be familiar with the IFASC Emergency Preparedness Toolkit, available to all members on the website and your ASC's policies and procedures.
Registration, speaker qualifications, & agenda
REMINDER: We are going green with electronic mailings, online registrations, plus all handouts at the conference will be accessible electronically on your phone, tablet or laptop via the website. Handouts for the Table Top Exercises will be distributed on the day of the conference per speaker request.
Conference Registrants will be notified 1 week prior to the meeting or as soon as all the handouts have been posted on the website so you can print them if desired.

The IFASC does not have special arrangements for hotels but there are several in the area at reasonable cost. There is a link on the website for the Comfort Inn on Pennsylvania Ave. It is convenient, clean and reasonable.
