Board Service

The LeadingAge Ohio Board of Directors sets the strategic direction for the association and brings together leaders throughout the state to influence state policy and programs and services for aging services providers.

LeadingAge Ohio seeks to represent the diversity of its membership and the breadth of the continuum served by members. LeadingAge Ohio tracks board diversity based on the sponsoring organization’s geographic region, service lines, and size (single site vs. multisite) in addition to the religious and personal characteristics of the individual. This includes the unique experience/expertise, such as communications/PR, philanthropy and research, innovation, and clinical quality, as well as career tenure (early/mid/late career), sex, and race. Board members must be senior leadership staff at member organizations. View a complete job description for Directors, here and review the current Board of Directors here.

The LeadingAge Ohio Board of Directors meets in Columbus quarterly in February, May, August, and November of each year. At times, virtual meetings are held in between regular Board meetings to address emergent issues.

Committee Service

LeadingAge Ohio welcomes members into committee service at any point in their careers. Committee members provide crucial feedback across membership offerings, advocacy, and sector-specific initiatives. Committees vary in meeting cadence, ranging from quarterly to monthly.  Attendance at two-thirds of meetings is required to remain in good standing. Past committee members cite the perspective and insider knowledge that come with committee service, which enhances individuals’ professional experience and provides an avenue to make an impact on mission-driven aging services.
