In light of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, the protocols/guidelines/recommendations from national, state and local authorities, and our concern for our members and partners, LeadingAge Ohio has decided to postpone all non-webinar education events through the month of May.

All postponed events will be reviewed and rescheduled for later dates.

Paul and Rick will discuss the top Life Safety Code survey citations and give recommended strategies and resources to prevent these citations. Also, they will provide the top health deficiencies related to maintenance and building safety and how to correct these deficiencies.

Richard Vance will address the most common survey findings from the State Fire Marshall. Together, Richard and Paul will discuss perceived differences between the State Fire Marshall and ODH related to Life Safety Code.  Participants are encouraged to bring their scenarios and get input from both presenters.

Water Management Plan for Legionella - Proactive and Reactive Responses

Rebecca Fugitt will discuss clinical and environmental actions to prevent a Legionella outbreak, developing a water management plan, conducting an environmental facility assessment, implementing monitoring and controls, and short/long term remediation options. Rick Hoover will review the citations and provide corrective actions.

Emergency Preparedness, Best Practices and Lessons Learned

Rick Hoover, Supervisor Complaint Unit/Life Safety Code, Bureau of Survey and Certification,

This session will review the post-acute care regulatory language related to emergency preparedness as well as provide best practices. Rick will share lessons learned from other table tops demonstrations ODH has reviewed.

 

Program Information

The Ohio Department of Health will provide the most up to date information regarding COVID-19 as it relates to facility workers as well as review the top Life Safety Code survey citations and give recommended strategies and resources to prevent these citations. Clinical and environmental actions to prevent a Legionella outbreak will be discussed as well as how to implement a plan for remediation. The post-acute care regulatory language related to emergency preparedness will be discussed, and ways to maintain compliance with Life Safety Code and post-acute care regulations will be shared. Examples of emergency preparedness table top demonstrations will be reviewed.
