Covenant Woods, located in Mechanicsville, Virginia, is a not-for-profit, CARF-CCAC accredited continuing care retirement community. Located on 86 rolling acres, Covenant Woods offers an active lifestyle and state-of-the-art facilities in the midst of the natural beauty of Hanover County’s countryside. Reporting to the Administrator, the Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the nursing department and will provide clinical expertise to assure the highest level of quality care for residents in order to achieve clinical excellence, as well as a holistic and resident directed care focus. (S)he will be responsible for assessment of needs, program development, implementation and evaluation of outcomes related to quality and education; maintaining oversight of budget for nursing; establishing philosophy, objectives/standards of practice and staffing ratios; and maintaining professional competency in the application of the principles of management.
(S)he will develop and coordinate all activities in the nursing department and be responsible for assessment of needs, program development, implementation and evaluation of outcomes related to quality and education; maintain oversight of budget for Nursing; establish philosophy, objectives/standards of practice and staffing ratios; and maintain professional competency in the application of the principles of management. The incumbent will have a minimum of five years of successful and progressive experience in a nurse manager leadership role and must possess an active Registered Nurse license in the state of Virginia.
