Human Resources Generalist 

Friendship Village Columbus is seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to add to our exceptional team and community. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing support to the Director of Human Resources in all areas of the department including recruiting, new hire orientation, benefits administration, payroll, and employment records.

Responsibilities

  • Assists all departments with recruiting to ensure adequate staffing levels and quality hires. This may include posting positions internally and externally, employment ads, career fairs, screening applicants, scheduling and conducting interviews, background/reference checks, fingerprinting, drug screens, physicals, and extending employment offers.
  • Assists all departments with the pre-employment and on-boarding process to ensure a timely and welcoming transition. This includes coordinating with hiring managers, coordinating and conducting new hire orientation, assigning badges and access for computer and systems access, etc.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining current records of licensure, certifications, in-service hours, TB screening, etc., for employees and contractors in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Responsible for working closely with FVC’s management company to deliver a timely and accurate payroll for all employees. Payroll processing to include payroll changes for new hires, employment separations, status changes, tax withholdings, garnishments, benefit deductions, etc.
  • Responsible for administering benefits to all eligible employees. This includes tracking eligibility, conducting benefit meetings, checking for accuracy on benefit forms, benefit enrollment, ensuring accuracy on invoices, initiating COBRA notices, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate personnel and medical files for all employees and contractors, in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. Ensure that all files and records are always survey-ready.
  • Actively participate, coordinate and assist in all employee recognition programs and events.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of previous experience in Human Resources or related field
  • College degree strongly preferred, or high school diploma with equivalent years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills essential
  • Must be able to handle a multiplicity of routine tasks, moving swiftly from one to another, following specific instructions carefully and general instructions completely.
  • Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to work with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is a must.
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills a must.
