Director of Nursing (DON / DNS)
We’re looking for a hands-on Director of Nursing (DON / DNS) for a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. The Director of Nursing (DON) must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and be willingly available to help provide direct care to residents if required. The Director of Nursing is responsible for oversight of the daily clinical and administrative operations of the nursing department to assure that each resident receives the highest quality of care so that they will achieve the highest level of function in accordance with their comprehensive plan of care.
Director of Nursing (DON/DNS) Responsibilities include:
• Assures a nursing organizational structure exists that supports clinical and administrative standards and goals, and enables the facility to fulfill its mission
• Creates systems, processes, and programs to achieve the mission, goals and strategic plan for the nursing organization
• Fosters an effective nursing management team
• Is knowledgeable of all applicable regulations governing long term care
• Determines the qualifications and numbers of staff needed to meet the needs of the residents and to achieve the objectives of the facility, and implements the staffing plan accordingly
• Implements and evaluates a system for identifying the resource needs of residents
• Assures work schedules are developed for nursing services personnel to provide adequate 24 hour coverage that meets residents' nursing care needs
Director of Nursing (DON/DNS) Qualifications include:
• Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
• Must be have strong computer literacy and competency skills
• Possess effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to implement new policies, procedures, and programs related to acuity of residents.
