The recently announced retirement of a long-term CEO has created an excellent opportunity for a performance-driven, creative visionary leader who can advance new strategies in the fields of senior living, healthcare, and intellectual disabilities, while upholding an authentic culture of Faithful Caring built around the values of Faithfulness to Christ, Wholeness of Life, Equality and Justice, Quality of Service, Integrity, and Stewardship of Resources.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will work closely with a long-tenured, highly successful leadership team to create and implement the Graceworks strategic plan in alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and vision. The successful candidate must possess exceptional integrity and interpersonal skills, outstanding business acumen, and a demonstrated record of success in meeting business and financial targets, gained in a multi-site and multi-program organization. In-depth knowledge of and ability to navigate changing government reimbursement models for all Graceworks programs will be essential. The ability to innovate, collaborate, and develop leaders will be very important.

The CEO will uphold the organization’s stature and enhance its outstanding reputation by remaining highly visible and interactive among staff, residents, clients, and regional and national healthcare industry leaders. A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree in a related field is preferred. The candidate must be a seasoned executive with at least 15 years of professional experience including 10 years in a senior management position. Prior experience building and maintaining Board relationships is preferred. 

Established in 1926 and headquartered in Centerville, Ohio, Graceworks Lutheran Services is a nonprofit organization that provides residential living and care options for seniors as well as residential care services for persons with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Graceworks ministries include Bethany Village, a leading senior living community established in 1946 with more than 630 residents on a 100 acre campus. Bethany Village provides nursing care, rehabilitation services, and an array of apartments, cottages and villas for independent living. A new assisted living center with 73 suites will open in January 2019.

Other Graceworks ministries include:

  • Graceworks at Home, providing skilled and personal homecare services to more than 1,800 persons annually;
  • Graceworks Enhanced Living, serving over 270 adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities through 40 homes and 2 day habilitation programs; and
  • Graceworks Housing Services, offering safe affordable housing to more than 700 income eligible seniors or disabled adults in 18 apartment communities in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

Graceworks Lutheran Services employs more than 1,100 individuals at over 60 program locations.
