GRANT WRITER 

The Grant Writer produces quality proposals and reports to generate revenue for the organization's life plan communities and home health and hospice programs, services, and projects.

While this position is based out of the corporate office in Columbus, the Grant Writer may work remotely from the Cleveland or Toledo area. 

Essential Activities and Tasks 

Grant Writing

  • Prepares proposals on behalf of the organization, working closely with corporate, life plan community, and Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice leadership.

Grants Management

  • Partners with corporate, life plan community, and Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice leadership to plan, identify, and prioritize grant funding opportunities that align with Ohio Living's priorities.
  • Assists with development and executes effective and efficient strategies to secure private and public grant funding.
  • Cultivates relationships with corporate, foundation, and government funders whose missions align with the organization and identifies new opportunities for funding to support the organization's programs, services, and projects.
  • Participates in key meetings and solicitations with grant funding groups identified for special project funds and ongoing operations.

Compliance, Administration, and Reporting

  • Partners with corporate, life plan community, and Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice leadership to support grant compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Gathers measurement data for proposals and reports.
  • Prepares and submits status and final grant reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintains complete and accurate data to ensure funding source information is tracked and kept current using the fundraising data management system and other information systems.
  • Follows established and appropriate grant development and writing guidelines and procedures.
  • Adheres to federal, state, and local government laws and regulations that govern overall fundraising programs, particularly those pertaining to grant management.

Qualifications 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.

Experience

  • Three years experience in grant writing required.
  • Knowledge of philanthropic fundraising methods and ideals required.
  • Demonstrated writing ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several projects and constituencies simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the internet required.
  • Proficiency with Raiser's Edge or other fundraising data management system preferred.
