Blue Cross’ New Fee Schedule Effective July 1

The new Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan TRUST fee schedule goes into effect July 1, 2018. The MAC Insurance Committee has created a useful resource of commonly used CPT codes, including codes for Evaluation & Management, Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy, Physical Medicine, and Radiology, for MAC members.

In comparing the 2018 fee schedule and last year’s edition, many payments saw small increases. Offsetting much of these gains, however, was that the Blues also increased the PGIP “tax,” meaning that payment for CMT and most radiology and E&M codes saw minimal gains (or, in a few cases, minimal losses). Some physical medicine codes, however, did see large cuts, some by almost as high as 25 percent.
