The Hot Air & Induction Welding Safety Training (HAWT) Authorized User Safety program covers the materials, equipment and the OSHA required safety topics associate with the installation of Single Ply membrane roofing systems.  By attending the MRCA’s new HAWT Instructor workshop, you will complete a certification program that authorizes you to provide the specific Authorized User Level safety training for the installation of all types of single ply roofing membrane systems.

To be a HAWT instructor, you must demonstrate a working knowledge of the materials, equipment and safety requirements necessary for the installation of single ply roofing systems.  You must also have some experience training or onboarding roof workers and either teaching or supervising safety for your company.

The HAWT Instructor certification provides each participant with a standardized training program that includes a classroom PowerPoint presentation, a student manual, an instructor’s guide, hazard analysis and hazard controls checklist, OSHA compliant equipment inspection checklists and the HAWT training video.   Upon completion of the MRCA’s HAWT Instructor program you will have learned to implement industry best safety practices for all types of adhered and mechanically attached single ply roof systems.  You will be able to provide advanced safety instruction to professional single ply roof system installers and you will be authorized to provide HAWT certification to roofing workers.
