Free ASCO Webinar on Avoiding Medicare Payment Reductions

ASCO will host a free webinar on November 13, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM (ET) on avoiding Medicare payment reductions related to CMS reporting requirements for the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), Electronic Prescribing (e-Rx) program and the Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive program. Learn more about Medicare reporting requirements and how to avoid reductions in reimbursement. This webinar is for oncologists and their practice staff throughout the United States.

The CMS reporting requirements may significantly impact oncology practices that treat patients covered by Medicare. Namely, CMS is shifting from offering incentives to providers for participating in certain reporting programs-the current system-to reducing reimbursements to those providers who do not participate. Oncologists who don't participate in the CMS reporting programs run the risk of reductions in Medicare reimbursements. Some of the penalties will be assessed based on 2013 reporting. More information about the reporting requirements, penalties, and registration for the November 13 webinar can be found at www.asco.org/cmsreporting.
