JUST RELEASED: Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule

"Revisions to Payment Policies under the Physician Fee Schedule and Other Revisions to Part B for CY 2017"

Late Tuesday, November 2, 2016, CMS released the Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Final Rule with more than 1400 pages of changes for calendar year 2017.  CMS states that this Rule is focused on "substantial improvements that focus on primary care, mental health and diabetes prevention. The annual PFS updates payment policies, payment rates and quality provision of services provided in 2017.  CMS indicates the impact of changes to Hematology/Oncology and Radiation Oncology is 0%.  At a glance, there is no mention of changes to the current ASP +6% drug reimbursement, however we are still awaiting a Final Rule related to the Medicare Part B Drug Payment Model.
