ASCO is Looking for Tomorrow's Leaders Today

All applications must be received by September 25, 2018.

Participants in the year-long ASCO Leadership Development Program will gain extensive exposure to the roles and mission of ASCO, our leadership, and the Society’s powerful place in developing the future of cancer care.

Applicants must be Full Members of ASCO who completed their final subspecialty training between 2009 and 2014.

Through the Leadership Development Program, participants will:

  • Engage with a diverse class of oncologists from different practice settings
  • Enhance leadership skills through interactive sessions
  • Network and receive mentorship from ASCO leadership
  • Receive first-hand advocacy experience on Capitol Hill
  • Gain exposure to ASCO committees
  • Research an ASCO strategic issue and deliver recommendations to the Board of Directors
  • Receive communication skills and media training
  • Visit the FDA and learn about the drug regulatory process

Leadership Development Program participants are required to attend all sessions. ASCO will cover the housing and travel costs for participants to attend sessions at ASCO Headquarters.

Individuals with a specific interest in health policy can apply for the new Health Policy Leadership Development Program which combines the Health Policy Fellowship Program with the Leadership Development Program to provide physicians with the necessary skills to shape cancer policy and help increase the involvement of ASCO members in policy, advocacy and grassroots activity.
