The Industrial Careers Pathway Steering Committee Meets to Refine Its Initiatives

Icp 2017

The Industrial Careers Pathway® (ICP) Steering Committee met on May 31 and June 1 in Arlington, Virginia  for their annual retreat to review and direct current programs. In attendance and representing NAHAD were Amy Luckado, Membership Services Director, Vincent Moulden, Digital Media Manager and Lindsey Gallik, NAHAD Board Member and Sales Manager at Holmbury, Inc.

ICP is a program created in response to the critical need to acquire qualified employees. ICP links eligible students to career paths in industrial distribution through partnerships with local educators and employers. NAHAD is an Alliance Partner of ICP, giving all members access to the tools and training they provide. Click here to find out more.

Currently ICP divides its time and resources among three separate audiences:

After much discussion, the committee agreed that of the three audiences, employers are the most important and where we should focus our efforts.  In order to assist employers with their recruiting efforts, ICP will develop  resources on establishing relationships with local schools, finding local talent, helping distributors sell the idea of working at member companies to potential employees, helping educators explain industrial distribution to students, etc. Thus, adding even more value to your NAHAD membership.

The PTDA Foundation Board of Trustees (who developed and governs the Industrial Careers Pathway program) will meet in late September to approve a new  strategic plan where the items discussed by the ICP Steering Committee will be reviewed. We look forward to sharing the final plan with NAHAD members sometime in October. If you have any questions about the program or would like to get involved by becoming an ambassador please contact Mary Jawgiel, ICP Program Director, at mjawgiel@ptda.org.
