U.S. Rubber Tech Inc., located in South San Francisco, CA, is celebrating 25 years as an industrial hose distributor in northern California, as announced by Jim Janakes, president. Originally founded by Janakes, with ex-Goodall partners Paul Yalsovac and Ram Ortiz, both now deceased, the company distributes hose and conveyor belting throughout the Golden State from their location just across the freeway from San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
Janakes notes, “We want to acknowledge our contemporaries within NAHAD -- our suppliers, our fellow distributors, and the NAHAD staff -- for providing the foothold for a fledgling startup in early 1989, in the midst of a recession, and for helping to nurture our growth over all these years.”

ITW Strapbinder’s new battery powered GripClamp™ tool tensions, locks and cuts the clamp tail to provide versatility and productivity for J-series hose clamp applications. GripClamp operates on most brands of 5/8” and 3/4” stainless or galvanized pre-formed J-series clamps, with no adjustments necessary to accommodate different clamp diameters. It can tension a larger diameter clamp to a smaller diameter requirement, helping to minimize overall clamp inventory. And with unlimited take up and adjustable tension settings, GripClamp™ eliminates refeeding regardless of the hose diameter.
Both portable and bench mountable, GripClamp provides maximum versatility for in-house or out-in-the-field applications. It can be used on a bench and removed quickly for point-of-use applications. GripClamp delivers 125 clamps per charge and features an 18V Bosch lithium-ion battery that is fully charged in only 30 minutes and 80% charged in 15 minutes. Weighing only 9 lbs., GripClamp™ features an ergonomic grip design and evenly distributed weight to help reduce operator fatigue. Designed with the industrial user in mind, GripClamp has single one-button control with an easy cutting mechanism to further simplify operation.
