NAW Message to NAHAD Members: New Tax Reform Coalition Formed
NAW Member Association Members
Jade West, Senior Vice President-Government Relations
National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors
As you know, there is a lot of talk in Washington now about tax reform. NAW has been involved in numerous tax reform efforts in the past, and we have just helped launch a new tax coalition in response to the current debate on Capitol Hill. NAW will serve as the Executive Secretariat for this new organization, the Coalition for Fair Effective Tax Rates (CFETR).
CFETR will focus exclusively on urging policy-makers to consider tax reform based on effective rates – what businesses actually pay – rather than statutory rates. Since distribution pays among the highest effective rates of all industries, reform seen through that lens would help level the playing field and create a much fairer tax system for our members.
CFETR was launched at a press event last recently, and we thought you might be interested in seeing some of the press and other materials associated with our new effort.
