NAHAD Members announce a retirement, a contest and a new employee.
Richard "Dick" Kopp has announced that he will retire from Goodyear Rubber Products at the end of this year after 42 years with the company. Dick formally announced his retirement during a recent 80th birthday party dinner cruise celebration held in his honor. With much of his family in attendance, including his dear wife Sarah along with his Goodyear "family," Dick shared stories of his early years working alongside company founders Murray & Jackie Jacobs and his transition to serving as VP - General Manager under their son and current owner, Bob Jacobs. Dick turned over the G.M. reigns to Eric Von Kaenel in 1999 but has remained with the company in a sales & mentor capacity since then.
Besides promising to stay in touch with his Goodyear family, Dick and Sarah plan to travel even more often than they have the last few years. Dick hopes to pay a return visit to Vietnam where he flew helicopter rescue missions for the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.
