Celebrating Nephrology Technicians: A Commitment to Recognition and Engagement from FMC's Rason Hunter

My name is Rason Hunter, I am the Regional Lead for the eastern Virginia region with Fresenius Kidney Care. As we approach Tech Week, I’m excited to share our plans to recognize and celebrate the vital role nephrology technicians play in our clinics. Given the vastness of our region, we’ll spotlight two clinics in each area, ensuring that every technician feels valued and appreciated. 

This year, our festivities will include engaging contests, door prizes, and a fun-filled bingo event, culminating in a pizza party to foster camaraderie. Beyond the celebrations, we’re dedicated to educating our technicians about the National Association of Nephrology Technicians (N.A.N.T.), as many in our region are not familiar with its mission and resources. 

With 25 years in dialysis, I’ve learned that creating a positive work environment hinge on active engagement and attentive listening. Every team member should feel their contributions matter and that their voices are heard. By fostering an atmosphere of appreciation, we can boost morale and enhance our collective efforts. 

Let’s make this Tech Week not just a celebration, but a stepping-stone toward a more informed and united team. Together, we can ensure that every nephrology technician knows their worth and the important role they play in patient care. Join us in honoring these dedicated professionals!
