CBS North Carolina is looking for an energetic, detail oriented assignment desk editor with a passion for excellence. Proven ability to gather and coordinate news content for multi platform operation. Requires strong multi-tasking, enterprise reporting and breaking news skills. Work with reporters, producers, news staff to deliver on station brand mission every day. Daily meetings with news managers, web and broadcast producers to determine coverage and coordinate story distribution. Work with web and broadcast producers to establish story updates and completion deadlines to create seamless distribution of content across all platforms. Monitor scanners and assist with beat checks. Experience covering breaking news,and adjusting coverage plans appropriately. Check-in with reporters and support frequent story updates, working with news team. Assist in posting updates on the web. Daily story and planning meetings with reporters and producers and managers for next-day and long-term coverage that meets brand and content objectives. Assist with video intake, coordinating with Digital Assets Manager to meet coverage goals. Prioritize video intake for web and broadcast.

Experience: 2 years Broadcast producer, reporter and/or assignment editor experience. Skills: Ability to plan and coordinate news stories and news coverage. Proven ability to handle breaking news. Ability to manage logistics of news gathering. Prioritize news coverage to achieve daily objectives. Abilities to post text and video on a website.
