WXII-TV Hearst Television’s NBC’s affiliate in Winston-Salem, NC, has an immediate opening for a Chief Photographer. We are accepting resumes from applicants with exceptional organization, motivation and management skills. Excellent video and editing skills, exceptional time-management abilities, effective communication style at all levels and the highest journalistic standards are a must.

Qualifications Requirements: Our Chief Photographer must be a true multi-tasker who juggles many responsibilities at once:

• Hires, trains, manages, evaluates, schedules, and develops a team of photographers and editors.
• Capable of operating ENG news vehicles, along with expertise in FTP’ing of video as well as other non-traditional delivery methods.
• Shoots high quality sound and video for news broadcasts.
• A team leader who ensures our look and sound are among the best in the market.
• Works closely with the IT and Engineering department to establish protocols for editing workflow, video archiving, and upcoming projects.
• Researches equipment and recommends purchases to the Chief Engineer & News Director.
• Maintains equipment and vehicles, and keeps vehicle/equipment records.
• Assists in the coordination of large-scale station projects.
• Attends and contributes to management team meetings.
• Ensures continued education of staff on best practices, evaluating quality standards and safety protocols. Experience:
• Prior experience as a photographer is required.
• Must have working technical knowledge of ENG/SNG trucks, FTP, electronic video services, editing and playback equipment.
• Can easily carry up to 50 pounds of equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record necessary.
