| Description | All candidates must apply online at https://app.jobvite.com/j?aj=ovqY7fwK&s=NC_Assn._of_Broadcasters Capitol Broadcasting Company is searching for an exceptional multi-platform journalist to plan and manage sports coverage across TV sportscasts, radio shows and digital platforms. The Sports Content Director will work across divisions to direct day-to-day and long-range coverage, striving for original content creation that plays to the strengths of each platform. This person also will generate new ideas and processes for presenting sports coverage for radio, TV and digital audiences. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, leading cross-divisional teams of reporters, managers, web producers and broadcast talent in coverage of seasonal sports and special events. Experience using social media to build brands and audiences is expected. The position also includes some on air work from time to time. The Sports Content Director must balance the need to keep our primary sports website and app, WRALSportsFan, updated throughout the day with the latest news and opinion while generating content for TV and radio. The director will be called upon to write and post content to the web and social media and assigning those same duties across divisions. This person also will have responsibility for High School OT, our prep sports site and app. The Sports Content Director should have at least five years’ management experience and more than eight years of work in radio, TV and/or digital publishing. Preference will be given to candidates with strong writing and video editing skills, as well as those who have experience managing coverage across platforms.
