WLOS News 13 (Market 37-Greenville, Spartanburg, Asheville, Anderson) has an exciting opportunity for a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) and Traffic Reporter in the Asheville newsroom. This is a station that values visual and compelling storytelling with a highly skilled photography staff. Your responsibilities as an MMJ will include reporting, shooting and editing news stories. The stories will air exclusively on our website as part of our “Only On WLOS.com” feature. This requires generating story ideas that have the potential to go viral helping creatively promote to reach more people. You will be expected to produce content on a variety of platforms including, internet, social networking sites and mobile phones.

Experience:

The position also includes on-air evening Traffic reports. These are primarily done in the studio, but also can be out live when warranted. Responsibilities include gathering traffic data from a variety of sources, creating graphics on our computer system and presenting the information clearly and confidently.  

Skills and Requirements:

  • A positive attitude
  • Solid news judgment
  • Excellent technical skills
  • The ability to work well independently
  • Knowledge of P2 cameras and Avid editing is a bonus
  • A good driving record is required
Requirements:

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of reporting experience at a commercial TV station is required
