Update on NCDA Advocacy Activities

Recently the NCDA Board has taken advocacy action steps. Through the work of the NCDA Government Relations Committee, the following actions occurred:

The National Career Development Association (NCDA) Board voted yes in May 2026 to support the
Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution introduced by Senator Jeff Merkley and
Representative Suzanne Bonamici to overturn the recent federal student loan rule
changes. View following documents:

 


NCDA, along with representatives of organizations across workforce development boards, state and local governments, community and technical colleges, adult educators, labor and labor-management partnerships, community based organizations, workers and businesses, submitted a letter in June 2026 about prioritizing a response to economic changes which affect workers and learners. The letter urges Congress to protect and increase Fiscal Year 2027 funding for workforce development, education, and training programs.
