Vision & Purpose

The Career Development Quarterly (CDQ) is the official journal of the National Career Development Association (NCDA). The purpose of CDQ  is to foster career development through the design and use of career interventions and publish articles on career counseling, individual and organizational career development, work and leisure, career education, career coaching, and career management.

  • total number of submissions increased 13.7% over 2021.
  • article acceptance rate = 21.1% (an increase from 13.9% in 2021)

2-Year Impact Factor (2019-2021) = 2.408

Access via Wiley Online Library increased by 15.7% in 2022. The average number of views per article published in 2022 = 391.

CDQ ranks 57 of 83 applied psychology journals worldwide.

Requests for Translation and Reprint of CDQ Articles
NCDA encourages the translation and reprint of CDQ articles. Such requests should be submitted to NCDA headquarters and forwarded to the current CDQ editor for review. If the editor rejects a request, a justification should be made to the NCDA president. NCDA Headquarters will process all approved requests for translation and reprints and appropriate fees will be charged to the requester.
