Deadline for Patient Electronic Access for Medical Records

In regards to the 21st Century Cures Act, it is my understanding that based on information recently released that the DEADLINE to allow patients immediate electronic access to the information in their medical record has been CHANGED to 4/5/2021. Please comment. Thank you very much!

It is confirmed that due to the pandemic, the previous deadline was extended by the HHS. The new deadline is now April 5, 2021 for patients to have access to their medical records electronically. In addition, the deadline for medical records to be shared with 3rd party software so patients can access data on a mobile device is still set for October 6, 2022.
