Filing a Complaint with Magnacare
Who do I file a complaint with about Magnacare? Magnacare has refused to re issue a check that was fraudulently signed by someone other then the Dr. We submitted an affidavit of Forgery form after pulling teeth to get them to get it to us. The back of the check is also stamped from a different bank, not Dr.'s bank. They have also sent an incorrect 1099 and refuse to let us speak to the finance dept about it.
To escalate this issue, a formal complaint needs to be submitted to the New York State Department of Financial Services. There is a section of the site specifically for healthcare providers who have complaints about payment issues with any insurance carrier. If a complaint has not been filed with the DFS in the past, a provider will have to register so they may file a complaint with supporting documentation.
