Ohio Congressman Leads US House Changes on Obama Care

Past Supporter of ASC Issues

The latest health news provides some interesting developing for Ohio and possible for ASCs.  Ohio Congressman Pat Tiberi from Columbus has been tapped by US House Speaker Paul Ryan to lead the House efforts to develop a replacement for the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obama Care).  SEE NEWS ARTCLE LINKED BELOW

OAASC members have met with Congressman Tiberi several times on ASC issues including a very exciting meeting on a fly-in two years ago in the House Ways and Means Committee’s private meeting room.  He has also been a past supporter of legislation to address the payment inequities for ASCs.

The national ASC Association (ASCA) also held a fundraiser for him last September, which the OAASC PAC contributed and some OAASC members attended.

We have a very good working relationship with the Congressman and are hopeful that this announcement along with the appointment of ASC champion and orthopedic surgeon Rep. Tom Price as Secretary of Health and Human Services means a better road for ASCs in the nation.

This is news is the perfect example of why meetings with legislators and attending Washington D.C. visits and local visits with state and federal officials are important.

If you plan to go to the national ASC Association Conference in May in Washington D.C., please plan and sign-up to go with your fellow Ohio ASC colleagues to Capitol Hill on Wed. May 3 as a part of your conference participation.
