OABA and Ag Partners Join Forces for the “Grow Forward” Scholarship Program

75,000 Farms and 1,000+ Student Athletes Working Together for Ohio

The Ohio AgriBusiness Association teamed up with the Buckeye Club—the scholarship fundraising arm of the Ohio State Athletic Department—and other Ohio agriculture groups to promote the “Grow Forward” scholarship program.

“Grow Forward” is an initiative that gives farmers the opportunity to support the Ohio State student athlete scholarship fund. “Grow Forward” allows farmers to easily donate a percentage of their harvest to the Buckeye Club through their local grain elevators. Farmers who donate $1,500 worth of corn or soybeans will earn at a minimum a football season ticket application and additional benefits according to how much they donate. Benefits include football parking passes, men’s basketball practice passes, seats in an OSU luxury suite for a football game, walk-on golf course privileges, and more.

“The ‘Grow Forward’ program is very interesting to me because it helps our athletes and it also gives the opportunity for Ohio farmers to support them,” said Herb Mayer, who chairs OABA board of directors. “OABA is glad to help spread the word about this great program.”
