This year’s Ohio AgriBusiness Association (OABA) Educational Trust Golf for Scholarships late scramble on Wednesday was a huge success. One hundred and forty-eight golfers came together at the Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney to support the Educational Trust scholarship fund.
For the late outing, we had a 29 percent increase in registrations – thank you to those who came out to golf, and to our hard-working committee members (see below) for making this happen!
Through both OABA Educational Trust Golf for Scholarships outings – June 27 in Bellville and August 15 in Sidney – we were able to raise more than $43,000 in scholarship dollars for aspiring agriculture professionals attending The Ohio State University and OSU Agricultural Technical Institute, Clark State Community College and Wilmington College. The Golf for Scholarships outings are so crucial because they are the primary fund-raising activities for the OABA Educational Trust scholarship program, through which nearly $35,000 in scholarship dollars is awarded annually.
We’d also like to congratulate Gary King for being recognized as the 2012 Honoree. Gary was selected as this year’s honoree because of his more than 20 years of service to the agribusiness industry, and his longtime dedication to the OABA Educational Trust scholarship program.
Congratulations to the late scramble winning teams:
