OABA Bowling for Scholarships Raised Nearly $7,000 for Scholarships

Ninety-one Ohio AgriBusiness Association members came together for the 2013 Bowling for Scholarships event in Maumee, OH. The event is held annually to raise money for the OABA Educational Trust scholarship program, through which nearly $35,000 in scholarship dollars is provided annually to students enrolled in an agriculture-related field attending The Ohio State University and Ohio State’s Agricultural Technical Institute, Clark State Community College and Wilmington College.

Through bowler registration, event sponsors, and an onsite 50/50 drawing and prize raffle, the event raised nearly $7,000 for scholarships.

In addition to being charitable, many of the bowlers were focused on the competition! The results from this year’s bowling event are as follows.

• First Place Team – ABIS/J.H. Ward Agency, comprised of John Henry Ward, Brad Gorton, Elliott Ward, Curtis Kummerer and Grant Gates
• Second Place Team –  MIP, comprised of Dane Hines, Chris Hines, Derek Allison, Donnie Enright and Gary Richardson
• "A" Flight Individual Winner – Derek Allison
• "A" Flight Runner-Up – Dan Hines
• "B" Flight Individual Winner – Rick Donald
• "B" Flight Runner-Up – Phil Breece
