OABA Educational Trust Adds Gary King Scholarship

$1,500 Annual Scholarship to The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences

To honor former Ohio AgriBusiness Association President and CEO Gary King, the OABA Educational Trust voted unanimously to add a $1,500 annual scholarship to The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.

“The OABA Educational Trust Board wanted to show their appreciation for Gary’s longtime support for the scholarship program, and his significant work to grow the fund to a half a million dollars,” said Jim Pullins, OABA Educational Trust Board chairman.

The Gary King Scholarship will be awarded annually to help an agriculture student who was a high school athlete, since Gary was both a high school and college athlete.

“I’m pleased to see the OABA Educational Trust board recognize Gary in this way,” said Chris Henney, OABA president and CEO. “The Ed Trust was very important to Gary and I know he always enjoyed interviewing the students and distributing the scholarship funds. What a great way to pay tribute to his legacy here.”

The Ohio AgriBusiness Association Educational Trust scholarship program annually awards nearly $35,000 in scholarship dollars to students enrolled in an agriculture-related field attending The Ohio State University and OSU Agricultural Technical Institute, Clark State Community College and Wilmington College.
