Upcoming OABA Events – Golf for Scholarships, Grain Grading School, Grain Merchandising

The Ohio AgriBusiness Association and the OABA Educational Trust are hosting several events this summer – mark your calendar and register soon to save your spot.

 

OABA Educational Trust Golf for Scholarships Outings
Register Today: June 26 in Bellville and August 21 in Sidney

The Golf for Scholarships outings are the primary fundraising 2012 golf photoactivities for the Ohio AgriBusiness Association Educational Trust scholarship program, through which nearly $35,000 in scholarship dollars is provided to students enrolled in an agriculture-related field attending The Ohio State University and OSU Agricultural Technical Institute, Clark State Community College and Wilmington College.

OABA Grain Grading Schools
Register Today: June 4 and September 3 in Reynoldsburg

Are you looking to obtain or renew your Commodity Tester Certificate? Remember … Sept. 30 is the deadline to renew your Certificate, and this Grain Grading School – approved by the Ohio Department of Agriculture – is structured to provide certification/recertification opportunities.

Individuals seeking certification will receive training in the procedures for grading corn, soybeans and wheat, as well as sampling and equipment, and will then take an open-book exam consisting of 50 questions. Those seeking recertification receive the same training and sign a verification of attendance form.

OABA Grain Merchandising Course
Save the Dates, Registration is Coming Soon: August 29 and September 5 in Waldo

The OABA Grain Merchandising Course is designed to provide practical information on a breadth of topics in the grain industry, from market fundamentals to facility operations.
The objective is to provide a deeper understanding of grain merchandising as well as to connect the different aspects of the industry.

Two classes – August 29 and September 5, 2013 – will cover different topics and will be available for registration individually or together as a series. The course is designed for anyone desiring a greater understanding of the grain business, including grain originators and merchants, branch managers, accounting personnel, operations personnel and bankers.
