Agronomy Division Manager

CHS Member Cooperative in Central Wisconsin

CHS is partnering with a member co-op in central Wisconsin to accept applications for an Agronomy Division Manager. The purpose of this position is to direct the agronomy products and services throughout central and north central Wisconsin through multiple agronomy retail locations.

While leading the agronomy team, this position will focus on the end result of providing outstanding customer service to area producers. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the Division, while establishing long and short term goals with assistance from the General Manager.
  • Staff operations, including resource planning, hiring, performance reviews, and developing desired training plans.
  • Supervise, coach, and train personnel to meet the expectations of their positions.
  • Establish and promote marketing programs for all product lines and services.
  • Equip and staff the Division’s facilities to achieve optimum efficiency, while providing desired net returns.
  • Maintain the facilities and equipment to optimize the investment the Cooperative has in them, and to promote a positive image at all times.
  • Uphold all Cooperative policies, and ensure that the facilities and equipment comply with all federal, state, and OSHA regulations.
  • Insure desired products are sourced cost effectively, and desired levels of inventory are maintained at all times.
  • Insure all of the Division’s pricing structures are competitive and provide desired returns.

Skills Required:

  • Must have an agricultural background with at least 5 years of management experience, as well as the ability to coach and motivate team members.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in diversified areas of agronomy with measurable results.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, and have the ability to effectively interact with vendors, employees, and customers alike.
  • Must have experience in drafting budgets, managing operations to the budget, purchasing and pricing, as well as the computer skills to track these areas.
  • Must be detail oriented, a self-starter and effectively analytical.
