Indiana Agriculture Nutrient Alliance in Indianapolis, Indiana

Indiana Agriculture Nutrient Alliance is a unique partnership of Indiana agricultural and conservation organizations in addition to state and federal agricultural and conservation agencies coming together to assist organizational partners nutrient research efforts and promotion of nutrient management and soil health practices educational programs. The organization was created to identify how partners can jointly enhance their programs to further the shared goal of improving nutrient use efficiency to reduce nutrient loss from agricultural production areas with the ultimate goal of enhancing water quality.

The Executive Director will have the opportunity to lead the creation and development of this new partnership. A key responsibility will be to establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements between partners to promote active and broad participation. The goal is to manage and lead the organization towards the realization of its mission. The Executive Director will be responsible for the administrative, financial and marketing functions of the organization on a day to day basis to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

Indiana Agriculture Nutrient Alliance is looking for someone who can:

  • Develop and implement organizational strategies and develop timelines to assist partner efforts.
  • Coordinate interaction amongst and between partner organizations.
  • Create communication plans to provide consistent reporting of partner activities, including outreach to farmers, the agribusiness industry, and other nutrient stakeholders to ensure awareness, support, and implementation of organizational objectives.
  • Identify and capture synergies between existing partner initiatives, projects, programs, and research to leverage resources of partners and maximize implementation and outcomes.
  • Promote development and creation of an Indiana science assessment and compilation of agricultural nutrient management research and resource monitoring projects in the state of Indiana.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A BS/BA or equivalent in an agricultural related field.
  • Experience managing independent contractors, preparing budgets, financial management and business-related requirements of a not for profit organization.
  • Strong working knowledge regarding the use and purpose of agricultural nutrients and the fate of nutrients in the environment.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership ability required to successfully carry out the objectives of the organization and assure positive working relationships among partners and stakeholders.
