Lead Payroll Administrator

CHS Aligned Solutions is working with a progressive, partnered cooperative central in Ohio to recruit for a Lead Payroll Administrator

Qualified individuals will possess:

  • Must have proven experience in Paycor payroll processing
  • At least 3+ years of payroll experience
  • CPP designation preferred plus an Associate's degree or equivalent training
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

Position Information:

The primary function of the Lead Payroll Administrator is to performs and supervise all activities necessary to processing multiple payrolls, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports. This role will report directly into the VP of Human Resources and will have direct reports.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • 50% of time personally performing payroll processing and related activities
  • 50% of time planning, coordinating, and supervising, payroll management and administrative duties
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions
  • Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system. Setup each employee, valid programs for each employee's charges, and adherence to FLSA; monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service
  • Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, budget, accounting, finance and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
  • Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to policies including compliance with federal/state/local regulations
  • Serve as point of contact for all employees within the Cooperative
  • Brand Ambassador to all Vendor Relationships related to Payroll and the function of Payroll
  • Make best practice recommendations related to tools and usage to streamline process of payroll the organization as a whole reducing costs
