Position Summary:

Provides overall leadership for all aspects of the operations and activities of Landmark Services Cooperative. Implements the strategic goals and objectives of the organization and gives direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization’s philosophy, mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Board Administration and Support – Supports operations and administration of Board by advising and informing Board Members, interfacing between Board and Staff, and supporting Board’s evaluation of CEO.
  • Program, Product and Service Delivery – Oversees design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services.
  • Financial, Tax, Risk and Facilities Management – Recommends yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manages organization’s resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations.
  • Oversees and manages all aspects of executive staff administration, including training, salary administration, job descriptions, staff meetings, performance evaluations, and communications within the staff.
  • Community and Public Relations – Assures the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.

Education: The minimum level of education required to perform the work at the entry level of the Position.

  • MBA – Master’s Degree Business Administration or equivalent

Experience: The minimum amount of experience required to perform the work at the entry level of the Position.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience, in a series of progressively responsible operational positions, and in an agricultural cooperative setting.
  • Minimum 5 years’ prior senior executive experience.

Knowledge: Describes the things that the employee must know (knowledge) to be able to perform the essential functions.

  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to agriculture.
  • Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
  • Knowledge of the agri-business industry or a closely related field.

Skills: Describes the things that the employee must be able to do (skills).

  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced organization.
  • Excellent management skills.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Able to divide attention, keep rapid momentum, and provide direction for multiple unrelated issues and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Able to think and act at both the conceptual and the tactical level.
  • Proficient with standard business computer software applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate an effective staff team, delegate and supervise, and work with staff on professional development.
  • Ability to think globally and strategically.
  • Set goals and objectives, prioritize and assign resources to successfully achieve goals.
