Assistant Professor of Agriculture
Wilmington College is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Agriculture in Agronomy on our main campus in Wilmington to join a talented and innovative department beginning August 2021. This is a ten month, non-tenure track position. The department values innovative teaching and faculty committed to engaging pedagogies, collaborative and interdisciplinary endeavors, global perspectives and providing hands on experiences to our students on our academic farm.
The candidate will teach courses in Weed Management, Forage Production, Grain Crops Productions, Introduction to Soils, Soil Judging, Advanced Soils, and Agricultural Computing. The candidate will also assist the department’s development of a food systems and sustainability centered curriculum by working on developing courses in Agronomy and food system management, agricultural production, and entrepreneurship. The ideal candidate will also supervise the maintenance of the Living Crop Museum (www.livingcropmuseum.info) on the academic farm.
Willingness to teach in multiple modes and delivery formats is preferred. Previous teaching experience at a 4-year institution, MSc required, Ph.D. preferred. US farm experience desired.
