ACRC Announces Search for New Executive Director

Source: CropLife America

The Ag Container Recycling Council (ACRC) has announced a search for their next executive director. Founded in 1992 to support the needs of the US crop protection industry to steward empty pesticide containers, ACRC is currently supported by 51 member companies and has recycled more than 175,000,000 lbs. of pesticide containers since its inception. They also produce industry guidelines for proper handling and disposal of empty containers and materials collected.

David Stengl, ‎manager of distribution safety/bulk distribution at Bayer and current chairman of the ACRC board said, “In the decades ACRC has been in operation, our organization has never been stronger. Enormous credit is due to our outgoing Executive Director, Ron Perkins, for his notable work in managing our enterprise and using his keen knowledge of the intricacies of plastic collection and recycling. Ron’s nearly 12 years of dedicated service to ACRC has made a real difference for the long-term viability of ACRC. ACRC is poised to excel under the leadership of our next executive director.”

ACRC is closely affiliated with the U.S. crop protection industry association CropLife America (CLA). CLA president and CEO, Jay Vroom noted, ”Although the council’s robust leadership will be a challenging shoe to fill, we are adamant on finding the next executive director to bring valuable expertise to crop protection efforts, and further advance stewardship programs that benefit farms and the environment. We strongly support and encourage farmers and applicators to get involved with the ACRC free recycling program.”

The ACRC search is being managed by the HR department at CLA. Please contact Laisha Dismuke at ldismuke@croplifeamerica.org for more information. The following is a description of what the ACRC executive director position entails.
