Assistant Public Defender

The Medina County Public Defender Office is seeking a full time Assistant Public Defender. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a full criminal caseload, complete legal research, draft and file pre-trial motions, trial work, and other duties as assigned. Applicants should possess knowledge of criminal procedure and the rules of evidence; have familiarity with criminal trials and motions practice; have a good work ethic and demonstrate the ability to multi-task, while maintaining attention to detail. Trial experience is preferred.
Job Requirements: Applicants must be licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio, and be a member in good standing with the state bar. The successful candidate will be required to undergo and pass a background check and a drug screen.
Compensation: Annual starting salary is $54,575. Benefits package included.
