The Data Protection Revolution & What It Means for Your Dealership

Year: 2019
Original Air Date:  June 13, 2019

Presented by OADA with Erik Nachbahr, Founder of Helion Technologies

Consumer data privacy concerns are constantly in the news. Growing pressure for lawmakers to do something has resulted in a wave of new consumer privacy legislation spreading across the country. These laws all drive businesses to take "reasonable measures" to secure consumers' personal information.

So, what exactly are these "reasonable security measures" that dealerships must take? Several State's Attorney General offices have defined "reasonable measures" as compliance with a set of security frameworks like those established by the Center for Internet Security.

In this webinar, Erik Nachbahr, Founder of Helion Technologies, will discuss Ohio's Data Privacy Act and explain what it means for a dealer to take "reasonable measures" in order to comply with this law.

The webinar will also cover the necessary hardware, software and data security procedures you'll need to implement, to keep your consumer data safe and your business protected from potential legal action.
