CMS Announces Important Updates to Webcast Series for Round 2021 of the DMEPOS Competitive Bidding Program

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has added a fourth webcast to its education program by splitting the previously announced “Registering and Submitting a Bid” session into two parts. The following webcasts are part of the series designed to assist bidders and sureties on key components of the Round 2021 process:

May 14, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. EDT - Bid Surety Bond and Lead Item Pricing (Now available on demand)
     May 21, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. EDT - Preparing and Submitting Financial Documents
     June 11, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. EDT - Registering and Submitting a Bid - Part 1
     July 23, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. EDT - Registering and Submitting a Bid - Part 2

While we will be accepting questions during the webcasts, we encourage you to submit your questions in advance to cbic.admin@palmettogba.com with "Webcast Question" in the subject line. Your questions do not need to be limited to the topics included in the webcasts, but should pertain to Round 2021. We also encourage you to visit the Competitive Bidding Implementation Contractor (CBIC) website for numerous tools and resources on bid surety bonds (e.g., a bid surety bond template and FAQs), lead item pricing (e.g., a fact sheet and calculator), required financial documents, and much more.

Registration for the webcasts can be completed by clicking the session names above. Once a live webcast has been presented, an on demand version will be made available which can be viewed through the session’s corresponding registration link. Resources such as slides and other handouts will be available during both the live and on demand sessions.

As a reminder, the CBIC is the official information source for bidders and bidder education. CMS cautions bidders about potential inaccurate information concerning the Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) Competitive Bidding Program posted on websites other than the CBIC website. Bidders that rely on this information in the preparation or submission of their bids could be at risk of submitting a non-compliant bid.

If you have questions or need assistance, please call the CBIC customer service center at 877-577-5331 between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. prevailing Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.
