PA Program Academic Coordinator Faculty Position

The Physician Assistant Program at Case Western Reserve University invites applications to fill a junior level faculty position. This is a non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, and 0.8 FTE, 12-month faculty position reporting directly to the Physician Assistant Program Director.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

General: Administration of program work; evaluation and outcome analysis; participation in interprofessional education opportunities; scholarship activities; professional service as related to the mission, vision, core values and goals of the PA program; university service including active participation on program, school and university committees.

Didactic: Assisting the Director of Didactic Curriculum with course planning and organization. Teaching with course coordination, curriculum development, remedial instruction as well as outcomes analysis of student, instructor and course performance.

Preclinical: Assisting the Director of Preventive Medicine and Community Health Engagement in the coordination of and facilitation of experiential learning, community service learning and interprofessional learning opportunities. Responsibilities include, but are not be limited to precepting students in the community and serving as intermediary between students and community partners.

Additional responsibilities include student advisement, mentoring and the monitoring of student performance; active involvement in the PA program admissions process, active participation in maintaining PA program accreditation, and involvement and leadership in PA program community outreach programs. In addition, the individual is expected to maintain clinical practice hours.

Qualifications for this position include graduation from an accredited physician assistant program, minimum of an earned Master’s Degree, proven clinical precepting and/or teaching experience, current NCCPA certification and eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio. Advanced computer skills required with proficiency in using databases and clinical evaluation software. A minimum of three years current clinical experience and experience in PA education is desirable.
