Promotes and maintains health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.
Education and Experience:
Successful completion of Physician Assistant program that qualifies for certification status in Ohio, Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Current license, certification, and registration in the State of Ohio and plan of supervision agreement and standard physician assistant utilization plan approved by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
Desirable Qualifications:
Requirements include: current Physician's Assistant certification to practice issued by the State of Ohio board of Medicine, graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program: Certification to prescribe by the Ohio Board of Medicine & DEA mid-level controlled substances registration; possess an NPI (National Provider Identifier) from CMS as rendering provider and/or Medicare PINs and UPINs.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipatieng future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Kind and Length of Experience:
At least one year actual work experience after PA program.
Additional Job Information:
Candidate will support patient needs in long term care facilities in out-patient physician practice. The Physician Asst. will support the physicians with assisting in the evaluation and treatment of patients in rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and patients in office with acute same day appointment needs.
Ideal candidate will have ability to carry out, or learn common internal medicine office procedures and see patients in office with acute same day appointment needs.
