Region 5 Student Activities - PA Week 2010

Student PA Week Activities in OAPA Region 5

You are encouraged to celebrate PA Week by supporting the activities that have been organized by PA students at the University of Findlay and the University of Toledo.

University of Findlay 

Monday, October 11

Distributing 6" mums to offices on campus promoting our program as well as to preceptors currently with students.  On a flower-pick in the mums will be a brief statement about PA week with a web address for further information. 

The student society will hold a bake sale to raise money for a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.  Donations are also accepted during that time. 

During the bake sale, a Cornhole game will be set up allowing students to play both "normally" and "impaired" Participants who are active students at UF will receive a free t-shirt designed by the student society promoting physician assistants.

Sunday, October 3

3rd Annual Donald Campbell Memorial Golf Open – Fallen Timbers Fairway Golf Course, Waterville, OH. 

Presented by OAPA and Friends of Donald Campbell, MD and will benefit the  Make-A-Wish Foundation & OAPA Scholarship Fund.  To register go to www.ohiopa.com.

Food Drive to Benefit Rusty’s House of Toledo, Ohio.

Collecting food and supplies on the UT Health Science Campus – Collier Building

Physician Assistant Information Booth at the University of Toledo – Main Campus

UT Main Campus Student Union – Provide information about PAs and the UT PA Program

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, October 4, 5, 7, or 8 - 12:00 – 1:00pm

PA-MD Panel – UT Health Science Campus

Presentation & Question/Answer Session with a local PA-MD team to show PA and MD students to how we can work together successfully as a team.  If interested serving on the panel with your MD, contact: jay.peterson@utoledo.edu

Saturday, October 9

4th Annual Race for Victory – 5k Run & 3k Walk

Presented by SAAAPA.  Benefiting The Victory Center, which assists cancer patients and their families in Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan.  In the past 3 years, the UT PA Students have raised over $7,500 for The Victory Center.    Website: http://www.utoledo.edu/studentaffairs/hsc/stulif/saaapa/2010RFV/index.html
