Latta Statement on FCC Set-Top Box Proposal

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) issued the following statement in regards to the Set-Top Box Proposal put forth by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Tom Wheeler.

“I’ve worked with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to encourage the FCC to pursue goals that eliminate burdensome regulations and give consumers more choices, like introducing legislation to eliminate the onerous ‘integration ban,’” said Latta. “However, the FCC continues to pursue intrusive mandates that are opposed by industry stakeholders and numerous members of both parties. While I’m glad to see them abandon the misguided, destructive mandates in AllVid, the Commission’s most recent proposal injects themselves into private licensing negotiations, an unprecedented step that goes far beyond the agency’s purview.”
