What Trump's presidency could mean for media, communications space

President-elect Donald Trump's relationship with the media and communications sector is a curious one.

Throughout the years, he has counted a number of top media executives -- including CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker and World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. CEO Vincent McMahon -- as friends.

On the other hand, Trump recently accused major media companies -- including CNN (US)-parent Time Warner Inc. -- of attempting to unduly influence America's political process, and promised to block further consolidation that put "too much concentration of power in the hands of too few."

Now, with Trump set to be sworn into office Jan. 20, 2017, executives, investors and experts are all trying to figure out what a Trump presidency will mean for the media and communications space as a whole.
