Numerous New Faces In D.C. Increase Importance Of A Unified Voice For Independent Cable

The theme for this year's Summit, "Navigating A Sea Of Change," is definitely on mark. With a new President in the White House, a new FCC chairman, seven first-time Senators and 52 freshmen entering the House of Representatives, it's critical that independent cable operators join the fleet of companies who will call upon policymakers to chart a course for communications reform during ACA's Summit on March 28-30 in Washington, D.C.

"The reason I attend the ACA Summit is to stay connected to my legislators and let them know what is important to me and my company," said Earle MacKenzie (pictured below), executive vice president and COO of Shentel.

Drew Petersen, vice president of external affairs and corporation communications for TDS Telecom, agreed: "I find the ACA Summit to be one of the most efficient ways for us to communicate our policies and our priorities with members of Congress. Not only do I attend as an executive from TDS, but I encourage many of our employees to attend as well."

Earle, Drew and three additional independent cable executives were kind enough to share their reasons for making the ACA Summit a priority. Watch the short video and then register to attend at www.ACASummit.org.
