Firefighter/Paramedic

Under supervision of the Fire Chief shall perform a wide variety of duties related to and including paramedic/firefighting. A Fire Officer II must be able to work with a wide range of tools and equipment and must be able to learn technical material about paramedic/firefighting methods.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or a GED -- GED certificate, if applicable, must be presented at time of filing. Shall possess current State of Ohio Paramedic Certification; must possess AHA Health Care Provider Certification; must possess AHA ACLS Certification; must possess current State of Ohio Firefighter II Certification. Must pass State of Ohio Fire Safety Inspector Certification class within the first year of employment. (Candidate will receive Fire Officer I pay until completion of this certification.) Must have a valid Driver’s License. Shall possess ability to perform labor and services of the character required by the operation of the Division of Fire of the City of Oregon, Ohio and shall successfully pass an Ohio Police and Fire Pension System physical examination. Must be at least 21 years of age at appointment.
