Jack Srofe

OFDA received word this afternoon that Jack Srofe of Mt. Orab, Ohio died April 1, 2008. Mr. Srofe became a funeral director in 1941 and retired after 30 years at the Weil Funeral Home in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Mr. Srofe was the beloved husband of Daphene (nee Hampton) Srofe; loving father to Jacqueline (Marvin) Heller; step-father to Keith D. (Joyce) Sissel, Dennis R. (Diana) Sissel Demossivlle, Deborah L. (David) Basham and Nadine Kattine; grandfather of Beth Ann Heller, Julia Gibson and Sarah Osterhout; great grandfather to Anna Beth Reiter, Chase Gibson and Olivia Gibson. He was preceded in death by his parents William P. Srofe and Queenie (Bingaman) Srofe; along with a sister Corine Srofe.

Mr. Srofe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Orab, F&AM New Harmony Lodge #435 and a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Srofe will be missed by many, especially the friends he made with the employees at the Megie Funeral Home.

The Megie Funeral Home, 104 Spice Street, Mt. Orab handled the arrangements. Interment is in Mt Orab Cemetery.
