Frances LeClare Burr (nee: Hoch)

OFDA received word this morning that Frances LeClare Burr (nee: Hoch) age 83, of Chardon, died August 22, 2008.

Born September 17, 1924 in Painesville, OH she was raised in Fairport Harbor before moving to Chardon in 1948. In her younger years, she worked as an executive secretary for the former Diamond Alkali in Fairport Harbor. She assisted her husband at the Burr Funeral Home for many years, until his retirement. Frances LaClare Hoch married Hal Marcus Burr, July 2, 1948, in Fairport Congregational Church. He preceded her in death April 18, 2007. She was a Precinct Judge for the Geauga County Board of Elections for many years.

She is survived by he daughter Marcia (Kirk) Hopkins; son Marc H. (Nan) Burr; grandchildren, Katie Hopkins, Marc F. Burr and Andrew J. Burr; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by husband: Hal Marcus "Marc" Burr; parents: Andrew K. and Willametta L. (Nee: Wildman) Hoch and sister: Juanita Snyder.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 am on Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Burr Funeral Home 116 South Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024. Entombment will be at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 28 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the Burr Funeral Home.
